Hello Community!!!! It’s that time!!
I am announcing the Nominating Committee for the upcoming August 2024 Annual Meeting Election which will be held on August 31st, 2024 at Secuela (more info coming soon)
The nominating committee is:
- Michele Baker (Chairman)
- Jeff Harting
- LaCritia Tanner
- Michael Vertz
- Ryan Richmond
We will be voting on and electing the following:
- President (Bylaws 6.7)
- Reporting Secretary (Bylaws 6.9)
- Assistant Treasurer (Bylaws 6.13)
- 3 Members At-large (1-year Positions) (Bylaws 6.14)
- The Past President (Kem Green) will fall into the 4th At-Large position for 2 years (Bylaws 6.14)
What needs to happen: if you are interested in nominating someone for any of the above positions you need to speak to the person first and make sure they are okay with that (it is NOT the nominating committee’s job to do that). The job descriptions are in our bylaws if anyone has any questions. They can found here and I’ll have it attached to our files on our Sabine Creek Tres Dias Facebook page.
If you are nominating someone for President as I mentioned above, make sure they are good with it and then they must get a letter from their Pastor that would show they agree this person is qualified for this position then you would turn that in with your nomination (it can be a soft or hard copy).
We have a new position that we are voting on..its Assistant Treasurer that will be a great shadow to our Treasurer and a 2nd pair of eyes. Read job description in Bylaws stated above.
Take note that someone after having served 2 full 2-year positions must step down from the board for a year. Also, take note that an At-Large can be nominated again for the At-Large position again if they have only served it for one year.
The nomination will start as soon as you are finished reading this post. Please only email your nominations to the committee so they can have a record of it as it is easy to lose a text, etc.
The nominations will close 11:59pm, Thursday, July 24th. The nominating committee will then announce to the Board and the community the slate of people chosen by them to be voted on at the election. It will then be opened BACK up to the community to nominate people to also be voted on against who the board chose.
Those nominations, however, will go to Dawn Klinger ([email protected]), our reporting secretary, NOT the nominating committee as their job is done at that point. I will talk about this again when the time comes. At that time, you can also re-nominate someone if you had originally nominated them to our committee, but they weren’t chosen. REMEMBER, just because someone wasn’t chosen by our nominating committee doesn’t mean they don’t have a chance to be elected! It’s all in God’s hands!
